First Impressions:
When I first opened up the box, I knew this was a beefy diver, though I didn't realize how well it was put together. I did notice though that the dial opening is smaller than I prefer, but nice overall first impression and the black case and yellow dial is a good combination.

Packaging:
Swiss Military seems to use the same packaging for all watches, but that is not a bad thing. A black branded outer box, and a black lacquered wood box houses the watch, along with instructions , warranty cards and other important info. Better than standard plastic boxes and while not anything flashy, a good presentation. This watch comes in other dial colors such as black, blue and white, but kinda cool that this presentation matches the colors of this particular variation.

Dial:The dial is inset deep into the case, possibly due to the large crystal. A canary yellow dial with black chronograph registers. Kind of a busy dial between the logo and branding at the top of the dial and chronograph and 100 atm under the chrono registers. It has applied markers, which is always a welcome item as opposed to just painted on markers. Black outlined hour and minute hands with a red second hand, with lume circle. I am not a big fan of the mercedes hands, unless it is one a particular brand of watch, so I would not mind seeing the hour hand changed out to something different. Just personal preference. I do like this shade of yellow and the use of the black registers which creates a nice contrast.

Case dimensions:Width: 44m
Thickness: 17mm
Lug space: 20mm at lugs, strap flares to 22mm
Lug to Lug: 51mm
Dial: 29mm
Weight: 165 grams

Case, Bezel and Crystal:
At 165 grams on rubber, it is a hefty watch. The rubber is substantial and with the metal keepers and large buckle Im sure it adds about 10 grams of weight or so, but still a pretty heavy case. If this were on a bracelet you would be looking at over 250 grams total easy. The case is a donut shaped case, where the middle of the case flares out farther than the bezel. The case is completely finished in brushed DLC and it is done perfectly. No flaws in the coating or the finishing that I can find. The lugs are extremely curved down to help give a better fit on the wrist and create a nice aesthetic . The lugs utilize hex screw bars, which I did test, and they unscrew smoothly and tighten up very nice.

The crown is a screw down crown that screws well into the hooded crown guard, making it nice and protected. It is adorned with a red  Charmex Swiss Military  logo.

Now I want to touch on the screw down chronograph pushers. This was something I had never encountered before and had to do a little research on, and confirm with the company that they were machined correctly.
Normally with screw down chrono pushers, you unscrew out to be able to use the chronograph.
Not the case here. Screwed down the pushers are active. Screwed out they are locked. Kind of weird, but I guess there  is some kind of mechanism or seal activated when the crowns are unscrewed. The company would not tell me exactly, and I can only guess because they don't want every other company to know exactly how they do it.
So before you were to take a dive, you would screw them out and lock them in place. Just like most chronograph dive watches , you can not use the chronograph under water. But I was told that when screwed down, it is still water resistant to 100 meters or 330 feet. A little strange on how they function, but since this is the company that made the 20,000 ft diver and that watch uses the same system, It would appear they know what they are doing.

Summary:Overall, this is a great tool diver. It is well machined and finished, uses the top of the line DLC coating, and has a unique and appealing case shape. There are many quality components used, such as the 5mm crystal, the applied markers, hex screw bar lug attachment and the thick and comfortable rubber strap. It is very comfortable and hugs the wrist nicely due to the fit of the rubber strap. In the end my only qualm is the choice of movement , but seeing as how you can get one from Chrono24 right around the $650 mark, I think that is a good price for a well constructed DLC diver. There is no doubt when you look at it or wear it that is is a well made watch and if yellow is not your color , it also comes in a black dial, blue and white. I believe they also make this same model in stainless steel with a bracelet as well.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to your comments.
