History/About (Direct from website):  "For over 100 years, Zeno-Watch Basel has evolved its excellent global reputation as a Swiss manufacturer of large-diameter watches with decidedly sporty looks. At this year's Baselworld show, the Basel-based company is again presenting sizable timekeepers that are built to cope with any sports-related challenge.

Zeno-Watch Basel has a track record in developing watches that reflect the trends of the times and with its new creations deliberately prioritizes timepieces with sports appeal. While this innovative watch manufacturer is focusing on water sports and aerial sports enthusiasts, its latest debuts – endowed with new materials
– will no doubt pique the curiosity of a broader audience.

ZENO-WATCH BASEL is an independent Swiss watch manufacturing and specialized in producing mechanical timekeepers, pilot and oversized wrist watches, with headquarters in Basel, Switzerland and independent affiliates in Europe and Japan. ZENO-WATCH BASEL is not tending towards a mass- produced product, but rather to becoming an important manufacturer for watch collectors and enthusiasts of large wrist watches."

Packaging: The Zeno packaging is extremely nice starting with an outer black cardboard box the is signed with the Zeno logo and name on the lid. Inside the outer cardboard box is a piano black finished wooded box also signed with the Zeno name and logo on the lid. The inside of the jewelry case is nicely padded and protects the watch well. The underside of the lid is also signed. Numerous booklets and paperwork also accompanied the packaging. The presentation overall I consider very high quality and well done..

Case (Crown Side): The stainless steel Pro Diver II case has a brushed finish throughout. The case measures 48mm but a robust 53mm including crown. The signed screw down crown measures 8mm and is positioned between crown guards at the 3 o'clock position. The machining of the crown matches that of the bezel providing for a more unique appearance than what is seen on many divers. The crown operation may be on of the smoothest I have experienced. There is zero play or wiggle in the crown when unscrewed.

Case (HEV Side): A manual 7mm HEV is located at around the 10 o'clock position between crown guards. I found it interesting that the HEV was not machined in the same fashion as the crown and the bezel as it has a more standard appearance. The HEV does engage very smoothly with no play or wiggle room. I like that Zeno placed crown guards around the HEV for added protection. The case measures 56mm from lug to lug at it longest edge.

Bezel Dial and Hands: The Pro Diver II has a 120 click unidirectional rotating bezel. The bezel has a very unique turbine shaped machining which I think makes this diver stand out. The bezel is extremely easy to grasp and rotates smoothly with no play whatsoever. The bezel insert is ceramic and is the 15 sec/min style with no lume. Personally I would love to see lume from the PIP to the 15 marker. I absolutely love the choice by Zeno to use the ceramic bezel as well as using a machining style quite different from the norm.

A domed sapphire crystal is installed and the dial opening measures 35mm. Beneath the sapphire crystal is a matte orange dial. The dial has the Zeno name and logo painted in black above center and the quartz designation panted just below center dial. The main hour markers on the dial are applied and the others painted in black. A white date window with black numerals is positioned at the 3 position on the dial. The date window could stand to be slightly larger would be my only suggestion for improvement on the dial.

The hour and minute hands are painted black around the edges and are ladder style with lume. The second hand is also painted black to match the hour and minute hands and is lumed at the red outlined tip. Perfect hands for this style of diver. I will address the lume later in the review.

Case Back and Movement: The case back is screwed down and has various specification information engraved around the outer edge such as Water Resistance, Sapphire and Quartz Mvt, The Zeno name and logo is machined in the middle of the case back. Very standard style case back and exactly as it should be.

The movement is the Ronda 515 which stops when modifying the time of the watch. The Ronda movement has been extremely accurate as one would expect for a quartz movement. An automatic option is available as well at a slightly higher cost.

Bracelet/Strap: Zeno suppies a Polyurethane (PU) strap with orange stitch with this version of the Pro Diver II. The strap measures 5mm at the thickest point and 3.5mm at the thinnest. The strap is extremely soft and comfortable as one would expect from PU. The strap has a signed spring bar buckle attached. While the stock strap is nice a watch this substantial should include either a bracelet or a thick leather strap of some sort. The biggest short term issue with the PU strap is that it attracts lint and dust rather easily. I hope Zeno considers some additional strap options in the future.
